After Christmas comes the Axe
Yup, at 5:15 on Wed afternoon, I was called into my supervisor's office and told that we were downsizing. I got the axe. So, after spending a half a day sulking, the rest of my time has been spent burning up the phone lines calling anyone and everyone I can think of about a job. The result...an interview next week. One. Well, that's better than nothing. And thanks to a decent severence package, I'm not freaking out just yet. I'm off to work on a resume. Anyone here want to hire me??

ooo. severence package. tell me it wasn't a case of liquor in which to drown your sorrows.
almost!! nah, it was a bit better than that...though the liquor would have been welcome a few nights ago!
Whoa. Happy New Year, now get lost? With that attitude, I think you're making an excellent personal choice to leave that particular company behind you.
Ah, you'll find a new and better role easily enough. Damn, if a wine expert can't find work I don't know who can. And besides, there's a certain little person that might be quite pleased to see you around. :)
(No, I don't mean Chirodad. Sheesh.)
man oh man what a brutal time to get axed! i hope you weren't in/ too much debt from christmas!
Owl, wine expert, eh?? I'm thinking of perhaps leaving that tidbit off the C.V.'s...dont want prospective employers thinking I'm a lush just yet!! :) And yes, oh wise one, there WAS a little person VERY glad to see me around a bit more...Chirodad too! :)
Kitty, thanks for stopping in! Yeah, it sucked to get fired right NOW of all times, but we did good over christmas with the whole handmade thing + very strict budget on bought presents. I'm actually at Chirodad's office now sending out resumes...ok, well, I will in a minute anyway!
How can you leave wine expert off your resume! Tch. I mean, what the hell are you going to say you've been doing every Friday? ;P
Filing??
