In the Beginning

So I wonder if blogs really are mostly for women? Being the more verbose sex, perhaps it is apropo. Anyway...I suddenly find myself at a loss as to how to begin. I'll chalk that up to the lack of sleep over the past weekend. We had a long weekend spent camping with Elene and husband in Roan Mountain, TN. It was a very nice campground, but boy did it get COLD! I've been much to used to 90 + degree heat we've been having. At the campsite, it was in the low 40's at night. Thankfully, I managed to remember to pack elene's snow-suit like polar fleece outfit, so she slept snuggly each night. Unfortunately, I thought that her father and I could handle whatever nature threw at us with shorts on. I couldn't have been more wrong! By 2 am Friday night, I found myself snuggling closer to Elene just to share in her body heat. It is amazing how much heat a well-bundled 8 month old can generate. I was actually jealous in the morning of her warm little hands and pink face. By Saturday night, we had bought an extra blanket to share between ourselves as well as filled up several plastic bottles with hot water before retiring for the night. That (and a very hot shower in the morning) seemed to do the trick. We also attended the Blue Ridge Celtic festival in Blowing Rock while on our mini vacation. Fun times and great music for all.

I suppose this is a decent start to a blog...I'm off to try and figure out all the options for my new blog spot!

My wife is far more verbose in the blogosphere than she is in person. I am typically known as the more loquacious in our family.

Sorry it took so long to reply...I'll have to blog a LOT about our recent weekend. The name thing...hubby is weird about using her given name for all to see, so I use Elene, one of her orthodox names. I'm so complex.
